Sintra — Cascais Tour
Itinerary

We include:

Palácio Nacional de Sintra , Palácio da Pena, Quinta da Regaleira,Palácio de Monserrate, Cabo da Roca,Praia do Guincho, Cascais e Estoril.

Sintra is known for its many 19th-century Romantic architectural monuments, which has resulted in its classification as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Although its heritage in buildings and nature is the most visible face of the historic individuality of Sintra, a whole literary heritage has made the area a legendary reference in Portuguese culture…
Palácio Nacional de Sintra-The best preserved medieval Royal Palace in Portugal, being inhabited more or less continuously from the early 15th century to the late 19th century.

Palácio da Pena-The iconic Pena National Palace originally built on the Monastery of Nossa Senhora da Pena, and renovated extensively through the initiative of Ferdinand II of Portugal.

Quinta da Regaleira-a very romantic Manour. This great house was the result of myth-magical dream of its owner, Antonio Augusto Carvalho Monteiro (1848-1920).

Palácio de Monserrate-constructed by Gerard Devisme, but taking on its oriental appearance after Francis Cook. The Monserrate Palace was visited by Lord Byron, Anglo-Scottish poet and grated figure of the Romantic Movement. Visited in 1809 and sang her beauty in the poem «Childe Harold’s Pilgrimage.» The Monserrate Palace still has a brief appearance in the mini-TV series, ‘Gulliver’s Travels’, 1996.

Cabo da Roca-Then we go to visit the Cabo da Roca, “where the land ends and sea begins”. Mastering the turbulent waters to 140m high they hit loudly against the rocks. It offers a beautiful view of the wild coastline.
